Good Shepherd Schools regrets to inform our Seacoast community that we will not be re-opening in the Fall of 2010. It has been a privilege for us to serve area families for the last 33 years and we pray for God's continued blessing on each life we have been able to touch. |

The Good Shepherd School (GSS) is a seacoast NH Christian school with grades K through 12 located in beautiful Barrington, New Hampshire. We implement a classical multi-age model of education, a perfect fit for the core values of our school. We have a four (4) day school week (approved by the State of NH Board of Education), allowing for one day a week for teacher training and collaboration and for students to complete reading assignments and projects.
Classical Education Model and Its Benefits
There are three main considerations in developing a classical model for Christian Education. It needs to:
- be a method of education that is distinctly Christian
- address the developmental stages of the child
- draw on proven teaching methods that address the developmental age of the child
Some of the benefits of classical education include:
- It is holistic looking at life through the lens of Christian faith.
- It addresses all of the different developmental stages of a child.
- It moves learning beyond the assimilation of facts to the cultivation of wisdom.
- It helps teaches truth, values, decision making and critical thinking.
