Dear Parish Family,

We welcome Father Dominic Azagbor, OP to Good Shepherd as our Parochial Vicar. We are delighted to have Father Dominic with us and look forward to all of us getting to know each other. We ask God’s blessing upon Father Dominic’s ministry with and among us. Father Dominic’s office is next to mine. His extension is 3611, and his email is frdazagbor@thegoodshep.org.

It’s been said that the only thing that is permanent (with the exception of God’s love and that it brings) is change. As Father Dominic comes aboard, we have some other changes in our parish team.

After 17 years as a member of our parish team, Helen Kantes will be moving on. Helen began her professional service at our school and then moved into parish ministry. To say that she has served the youth of our parish would be completely inadequate. She has loved, nurtured, supported, and cheered them on in countless way. She has done it all with joy, energy, determination, and faithfulness … even through personal tragedy and loss. We love you Helen. We thank you for all that you have been and all that you have done for Good Shepherd! And we are glad that you will still be part of our parish family and team as our technology guru! We will celebrate Helen’s amazing Good Shepherd legacy next Sunday (June 30) at the 9:30 a.m. Mass followed by a special coffee and donuts in the parish hall.

Also moving on from the parish office are Tracy Kovaleski and Bernadette Bratina. We wish them both all the best and thank them for their service to the Good Shepherd parish community.

Our plan is to make this transition as seamless as possible. We are grateful that Bryan Pritchard has graciously offered to step in to handle what needs to be done.

Even in the midst of change, we know that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). May Jesus, the Good Shepherd, continue to lead and grow our parish in His love and grace!

Have a great week everyone!

Love and prayers,

Father Neil Sullivan
