June 30, 2024
Dear Parish Family,
It’s hard to believe that this week begins July!! July 1 marks the halfway point through the calendar year and the start of the fiscal year for many organizations and businesses.
July 1 marks that start of what we call the Ministry Year here at Good Shepherd. We are getting reading for a wonderful year ahead … actually a wonderful three years ahead. We might call it a triduum, trifecta, triple crown, or trinity of jubilees:
2025: Universal Jubilee Year for the Church throughout the World
2026: 75th Anniversary of the Founding of Good Parish
2027: 50th Anniversary of Good Shepherd Church (Trindle Road)
These three years ahead will be filled with special graces, opportunities, and blessings. We will honor our past, celebrate our present, and prepare for our future. A church is built with living and physical stones. This will be a time of renewal, revival, restoration, and strengthening of all the pieces that form the beautiful mosaic that is Good Shepherd Parish. We will fortify our foundations, cultivate our communion with God and each other, strengthen our standards, and make our best better. We will reach in to remind ourselves about who we really are, reach up with our hearts in thanks and praise to God, and reach out with our hands in service to those in need. There are wonderful things to come!
With Father Dominic aboard, we have been able to expand our Mass schedule. We are able to add to our Daily Mass schedule Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. as well as Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. An additional time for Confessions will be on Sundays from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
Grace and peace,
Father Neil Sullivan
