April 19, 2026 · Third Sunday of Easter

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Continued Happy Easter!   The Resurrection is too powerful and profound to be limited to one day.   The Easter Season, which we are now in, allows us more time to celebrate and unpack the Easter Mysteries.   Christ’s victory over sin and death brings about renewal and restoration.  As we savor this victory that Jesus lovingly shares with us, we are undertaking proximate preparations for our Now Is the Time Renewal and Restoration Project and its first construction phase to begin on May 26, 2026.

There will be much information communicated over the next six weeks about what this summer will look like here at Good  Shepherd and what to expect.  Be sure to check the bulletin, thegoodshep.org, and Facebook and Instagram accounts now and throughout the entire summer for details, directions, updates, and special sneak peeks. Here is some information that is important to know right now:

· During the construction phase, all Masses and devotions will be celebrated in the Parish Hall between May 23, 2026, and September 11, 2026.  This includes Sunday Masses, Daily Masses, Funerals, Baptisms, Confessions, Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

· The Parish Hall will be transformed into a beautiful summer church.   It will look and feel like we are in sacred space.   As part of the Renewal and Restoration Project, the Parish Hall will receive a deep cleaning and be painted, ceiling tile replaced, fluorescent lighting converted to LED technology, and the floors stripped and waxed.  The Altar, ambo, tabernacle, statues, candles, etc., will be relocated to the Parish Hall from the Church.

· There are several logistical and staging elements that must be accomplished before May 23 in order for all this to happen.

· To accommodate this pressing need, as well as requirements during the summer construction schedule, meeting and activity spaces will not be available between April 29, 2026, and September 15, 2026, at both Trindle Road and Market Street. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience for a major improvement.

· All key holders must return their parish keys at the April 28 Leadership Summit.  There are no exceptions.   This is required to ensure your safety and the integrity of the construction schedule.

As the Risen Jesus walked with the disciples on the Road to Emmaus, may He walk with us on the road to renewal and restoration!

Grace and peace!
