May 31, 2026 • The Most Holy Trinity

Dear Parish Family:

Today, we celebrate Trinity Sunday as we honor one God in three Divine Persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are a distinct and holy community. They are a oneness that is a deep mystery. We are called to share that oneness. Our parish is not just an organization or a list of members or even a group of local Catholics. Our parish is a community!

We give thanks for that more than ever in Good Shepherd’s 75th year.  75 years of faith, sacrifice, worship, and community. 75 years of baptisms, weddings, funerals, first Communions, confirmations, and countless prayers offered within this parish family.  75 years of teaching, serving, gathering, and growing.   The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the Gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth. Parishes are the home of the Christian community. They are the heart of the entire Church.

Next Sunday, June 7, 2026, we will have a special celebration of our 75 years with our Corpus Christi Sunday Eucharistic Procession.   There are lots of details on pages eight and nine of this week’s bulletin.  It’s going to be beautiful!  Don’t forget the Pig Roast Dinner following the procession.   Pre-paid tickets are required for the dinner.  They are available after Masses this weekend, from the parish office during our summer hours, and online at any time.

In this season of graduations, conGRADulations to everyone who has graduated this year from pre-school, kindergarten, grade school, high school, college, and graduate school. Let’s keep all of our graduates in our prayers as they begin the next part of their journey.

A PRAYER FOR GRADUATES

Loving God, we thank you for all graduates of the Class of 2026.
You have blessed them with wisdom, friendships, and talents.
You continue to challenge them to make this world a better place.
Help them in their next steps of education or employment.
Protect those who will serve our nation at home or abroad.
Give them faith and a sense of purpose in their next chapter of life. Show them how to serve others in effective ways.
May they always be aware that everything they do,
they will find fulfillment in doing Your will,
that You will be with them always, and that You will bring to completion the good work You have begun in them. Amen.

Love and prayers,
Father Neil Sullivan
