Dear Parishioners:

Since its founding in 1951, Good Shepherd Catholic Church has been a beacon of faith, hope, and love in our community. The light of our parish continues to shine brightly through the good news proclaimed and the good works accomplished in the name of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

For almost three quarters of a century, we have gathered to worship, celebrate the Sacraments, learn and share the Faith, and support one another in times of joy and sorrow. Our parish has been and continues to be a place of refuge and strength. A place where we encounter God and accompany each other along the journey.

In 2026, Good Shepherd will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary of the Parish. In 2027, we will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Trindle Road Campus. This is indeed a wonderful time to be part of the Good Shepherd family as we celebrate these important milestones and honor the legacy of grace and generosity to which we are heirs. Now is the time for us to renew, restore, and rejoice.

Now is the time to renew our worship space. Here, we celebrate the Holy Mass – the source and summit of our lives as the People of God. Our renewal begins with reminding ourselves and witnessing to the whole world that Jesus is the center of who we are and what we do. Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, is the heart of our parish. To express this, we will move the tabernacle to the center of the sanctuary as well as refine and refresh other elements of God’s house.

Now is the time to restore our buildings’ infrastructure. This includes mechanicals, structures, systems, property, equipment, and assets that have served us well for 50 years but need updating and replacement. This part of the project will also address accessibility, safety, and security.

Now is the time to rejoice in God’s goodness and love. We rejoice in 75 years of blessings, grace, and Divine Providence. We rejoice in 75 years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. We rejoice in what God has done, what He is doing right now, and what He will do. Now is the time to rejoice in a cherished history, a dynamic present, and a future filled with hope.

After much prayer, consultation, and discernment, we are launching our Now Is the Time Capital Campaign. This campaign will support and fund our efforts to renew, restore, and rejoice. It is an opportunity for each of us to be part of the legacy of generosity of Good Shepherd and to make an impact for generations to come. As we look to the future, we are called once again to be good stewards of the gifts God has given us and invest in the spiritual home we all cherish.

I understand that making a financial commitment is a significant decision. I ask you to prayerfully consider how you can participate. Every gift will make a difference. Your generosity will ensure that our parish remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all who seek God’s love and the community of His People. Now is the time for us to renew, restore, and rejoice in all our parish is and all that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is calling us to be.

Now is the time to preserve and strengthen our parish for future generations.
Now is the time to address urgent needs to support our mission and ministries.
Now is the time to renew our sacred spaces.
Now is the time to act – together, as one family of faith.

Thank you for all that you do for Good Shepherd. I am grateful for your continued support and dedication.

Yours in Christ,
Father Neil S. Sullivan
Pastor

Now is the Time — Frequently Asked Questions

Now is the Time Commitment Form

Outright Gift
A gift of cash or a gift by check or credit card.

Commitment / Pledge / Recurring Gift
A commitment or pledge to make a gift over a specified period of time, typically at evenly spaced intervals. Pledges may be fulfilled by cash, check, or credit card.
Recurring gifts can be set up on the parish ParishSOFT website or through your bank.

Appreciated Stocks / Securities
If a stock has increased in value from the time of purchase, the owner can avoid paying capital gains tax by donating the security to a qualified charitable organization (Good Shepherd). When an appreciated security held for at least a year is donated to a charitable organization, its fair market value may be itemized as an income tax deduction. The resulting tax savings could be factored in to make a larger donation. For publicly traded shares, the fair market value is the average of the high and low prices on the transfer date. Reach out to the parish office for a form.

Gift from Retirement Plan
Federal law allows people age 70.5 years or older to make direct transfers up to $108,000 per year per person to charitable organizations from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), without the withdrawal being treated as taxable income. The withdrawal can be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

Directed Gift from Donor Advised Fund
Donor-advised funds (DAFs) are increasingly popular for charitable giving. DAFs enable individuals, families, or organizations to contribute to a third party that sponsors the DAF and then recommend how the funds are distributed for charitable giving.

Other Ways
