April 23, 2023
Dear Parish Family:
Today’s Gospel puts us on the Road to Emmaus. The two disciples walking away from Jerusalem with confusion and disappointment encounter Jesus along the way and it changes everything. It reminds us that every path, journey, an direction we take … that Jesus is there. And that changes everything.
Our parish staff has begun preparing for what we call the Ministry Year 2023-2024 that begins July 1, 2023. This includes our regular activities, events, and programs as well as new, innovative, and special opportunities for grace, learning, and community. They are all aimed at helping us to honor and give thanks to God, grow and know our faith, build community, serve those in need, and help us truly live as disciples of Jesus.
This Wednesday, April 26, is Administrative Professionals Day. It is a day for us to pause and recognize and honor those who support, organize, and maintain the day-to-day operations of an office. Good Shepherd is blessed with an amazing team of dedicated administrative professionals who not merely work, but serve and minister as co-workers in the vineyard of the Lord. Their duties are more than just phones, emails, scheduling, bookkeeping, and filing; they accompany the people of God in the ordinary and extraordinary moments of the Christian Journey. In joys and sorrows, life and death, fasts and feasts … they take care of all of us. Their work is truly a ministry that is an essential part of the good news and good works of Good Shepherd.
Please keep our Parish office staff in your prayers.
Love and prayers,
Father Neil Sullivan
