Dear Parish Family,
The Baptism of the Lord is a significant moment in the life ministry of Jesus. He begins a new chapter, if you will, and the start of His public ministry. As we celebrate this important feast and bring to a close the Christmas Season and begin the Liturgical Season of Ordinary Time, Father Dominic Azagbar, OP will be beginning a new chapter in his priestly ministry. One of Father Dominic’s Dominican Friar brothers who was chaplain at Lancaster General Hospital needed to return unexpectedly to Nigeria. Father Dominic has been asked to step in and cover this important hospital ministry. This change was needed immediately and Father Dominic reported to Lancaster on Saturday, January 11, 2025. We thank Father Dominic for his priestly ministry among us and wish him all the best as he begins this new chapter of his life and ministry.
There is not a priest available to replace Father Dominic at Good Shepherd at this time. Hopefully, a priest will be available in the spring changes. We have done it before. We can do it again. Plus, it was providential that Bishop Senior assigned Father Quinlan to live with us here at Good Shepherd as he serves as the Diocesan Vicar General. God always provides!
Grace and peace!
