Understanding Autism
Tuesday, November 18, 2025
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. • Parish Hall A
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. While the definition of ASD has changed over time, ASD involves both persistent challenges in social communication and interaction as well as restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior. Individuals with ASD may or may not have significant deficits in language and cognitive abilities. Currently, 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with ASD in the United States. Persons with ASD vary widely from one another. A guest speaker from Vista Autism Services will give an overview of ASD and discuss the opportunities and challenges that individuals and families navigate. The session is aimed at awareness and how we can better celebrate, support, and accompany those living with Autism.
