Altar Servers
Students in fourth grade through high school may be Altar Servers at Good Shepherd Parish. Altar Servers should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry them out well and with appropriate reverence. They should have already received holy communion for the first time and normally receive the Eucharist whenever they participate in the liturgy.
Altar Server Training is held several times each year and provides proper formation to students before they begin to serve at Mass. The formation includes instruction on the Mass and its parts and their meaning, the various objects used in the liturgy (their names and use), and the various functions of the server during the Mass and other liturgical celebrations.
For more information about becoming an Altar Server or Altar Server training dates, please check the Bulletin or contact Mike Nowakowski, 717.908.3614, mnowakowski@thegoodshep.org.

Greeters arrive 15 minutes before Mass begins to simply say “Welcome, we’re glad you’re here!”
To join this welcoming crew, please contact Mike Nowakowski, 717.908.3614, mnowakowski@thegoodshep.org.
Greeters must be 18 years of age or older.
Children’s Mass
On the third Sunday of each month, at the 9:30a.m. Mass, we celebrate the gifts of our young people.
All are welcome! While this is a Mass for everyone, our young people will act as altar servers, proclaim the readings, lead the singing, offer the intercessions, and bring the gifts to the altar. The homily will be appropriate for young people. Please contact Director of Religious Education, Maria Speca at 717.980.3621 or mspeca@thegoodshep.org with any questions.
