Good Shepherd is involved in many outreach programs including:

MONTHLY DIAPER DRIVE

Did you know that SNAP and WIC can’t be used to purchase diapers? This leaves many people in need without a way to get this basic necessity for their children. Good Shepherd collects diapers (any size) at Masses one weekend each month.  The diapers are shared with Healthy Steps Diaper Bank. You can find out more about their mission at https://healthystepsdiaperbank.com/.

THANKSGIVING GROCERY CARD DRIVE

Each year Good Shepherd collects grocery gift cards to help those in need purchase food for their Thanksgiving table.

ANGEL TREE

Christmastime can be stressful for many families. With the challenges many families are facing, it is more important than ever to do all we can to support our parishioners in need. Our mission is to serve by bringing Christ to others, sharing our treasure, and giving hope to the youngest in our community. Right before Thanksgiving, we display gift suggestions for children and families in need in our area on Angel Trees in the main Narthex.

How the Angel Tree works:
The ornaments on the Angel Tree list a child’s age, clothing sizes, and any requests made by the parent for their child.
Take an ornament from the tree, fill out your contact information at the bottom, and place the filled-out portion in the basket.
Then purchase the gift and wrap the gift. Make sure you attach the ornament securely to the gift, then bring it back to the church and place it under the tree before any Mass, or you can bring it to the Parish Office during business hours.
Gifts are then sorted and delivered to the families in time for Christmas.

If you, or someone you know, is a family with children who is in need and could use some help, please contact Pastoral Associate Sister Donna Marie at 717-980-3610 or sdmkemberling@thegoodshep.org. Privacy, discretion, and respect are assured.
